How & When to Apply

Application Faqs

Applying for admission to one of our programs is easy. In addition to some basic information about yourself, you will need to provide us with supporting materials:

  • Emergency contact information
  • University name and college major
  • Dietary restriction/allergy info
  • Basic questions about your experience (does not factor into your admission. This information is for our supervisors to better prepare before the trip and get to know you)

Q: When should I send my application for the best chance of admission?

A: Timing of your application will not have an effect on our admissions decision. However, we have what is called a rolling admission process, which simply means that the window for applications closes when all of the spaces are filled. In order to keep our SLP to student ratio high, all of our programs are capped at 12 students. This means that specific program dates fill quickly. Therefore, the earlier you apply the better your chances are to travel on a specific date.

Q: What if I apply but decide not to attend?

A: If you apply and are accepted to one of our programs this does not mean you are obligated to a specific date. You can request a date change or you can defer your acceptance to another year. Once you pay your deposit to hold your space in the program, that deposit is non-refundable.

Q: What if I apply and get accepted, but I can't pay my deposit right away. Does that mean I lose my space on the program?

A: Not exactly. If you are accepted, but are not yet able to pay your deposit, you will not lose your space on the program automatically. However, in order to keep our SLP to student ratio high, all of our programs are capped at 12 students. This means that specific program dates fill quickly, therefore, the earlier you secure your space by paying your deposit, the better your chances are of not losing your spot.

If space does fill up then you can always transfer to another date. All deposits are non-refundable. The deposit is good for a lifetime! We understand that circumstances can change, so if you have to cancel your trip, well hold your deposit to use in the future. Just make sure to give us at least 90 days notice
