CSHA’s International Professional Task Force in collaboration with Therapy Abroad is offering an exciting opportunity for up to 15 CSHA members to participate in a robust professional exchange experience in the South East Asian country of Singapore. This is an amazing opportunity to visit one of the world’s great city-states and learn more about your field, grow as a professional, exchange ideas, and have culturally and professionally enriching travel experience. The exchange program will introduce various practices and perspectives in their national healthcare services, clinical research and practice, assistive technology and integrative education in the host country. Seeking a deeper understanding of the endeavors and approaches of each international partner, participants will be empowered to analyze the pros and cons of various approaches to communication sciences in cross-cultural settings and synthesize their observations into actionable interventions back home. Learn more about a recent professional exchange, written by one of the participants.
Participants will be granted a ‘behind the scenes’ look at each International Partner, allowing for a rich, first-hand analysis of the services (obstacles and successes) provided in context. Participants will contribute to a variety of discussions around cross-sectoral and cross-cultural collaboration in public health, deepening their understanding of reciprocal work agreements and the processes through which diverse SLP professionals can spread their experience and knowledge across the globe.
Program pricing for the March 6-14 CSHA-Singapore International Professional Exchange is $3,750 and is available to the first 15 CSHA members placing a non-refundable $1000 deposit. Price includes flights to and from LAX or SFO (TBD), all excursions, boutique hotel (double occupancy), exchanges, donations, transportation, some meals and Therapy Abroad and CSHA facilitators.
